Countdown

We had our final rehearsal tonight. I meant to get a picture of our gang, but, well, lots of stuff to do. How much stuff is there left to do? At this point, needs had better been taken care of, because we are leaving, and that’s all there is to it. Tuesday midday, 36 hours from now we’ll be on an airplane. Which seems impossible because we have been planning this for months, and there are so many details I can’t even begin to list them. Passports, lodging, transportation, countless emails with Lorenzo (our man in Italy), getting the equipment lined up. It’s a ridiculous amount of work. Karen has been in charge of flying and sleeping, and I’m in charge of gear, vans and music. Basically, our location arrangements will be changing everyday for almost 3 weeks, so everyday has to be planned. We have a spreadsheet. And then there’s the language thing, which we’ll have to deal with. I know for a fact that Italians hate it when you try to speak Spanish with an Italian accent.

Oh yeah, rehearsal... the music, don’t forget about that. We sounded really good. Not as good as we will by July 1, our last gig. By that time, we’ll be unbelievably tight. Right after a string of shows, that’s the best time to record an album; so why do bands always record before they go on tour???

Here’s a picture of our set list:

What a great set list! Digging the new album - a lot.
